‘I’m a little surprised by Putin’: Trump says ending Russia’s war on Ukraine is taking longer than he expected

 “I stopped eight wars. And I need to stop one more with [Russian dictator Vladimir] Putin,” Trump said. “I’m a little surprised by Putin. It’s taking longer than I thought.”

Back in October, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump claimed he had successfully ended eight wars and said he was confident the Russian aggression against Ukraine would become the “ninth war” he would resolve.

During an earlier CBS News interview, Trump displayed a printed list of conflicts he claimed to have ended. That list included:

・Cambodia and Thailand

・Kosovo and Serbia

・Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda

・India and Pakistan

・Israel and Iran

・Egypt and Ethiopia

・Azerbaijan and Armenia

・Israel and Hamas

On Nov. 11, The Atlantic reported that Trump appeared “visibly frustrated” by his failure to end Russia’s war on Ukraine, adding that he may have underestimated Putin’s determination to destroy Ukraine.
