Chelsea will sign Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho on this one condition
Manchester United continue to struggle to sell Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea
Manchester United had a nightmare last season. Finishing 15th in the Premier League, losing the Europa League final to Spurs and being eliminated from European competitions all dented the club’s confidence. The arrival of Ruben Amorim brought some hope, but the situation was so bad that the changes were not immediately effective.
This summer, United have added high-profile players such as Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with Diogo Leon also signed for the future. The entry of Benjamin Sesko has eased the striker’s concerns somewhat, as Rasmus Hojlund did not have an impact last season. However, the real buzz of late revolves around Alejandro Garnacho; the player has come into open conflict with both the club and Amorim. Now, United want to sell him at any cost, so that peace can return to the dressing room.
Chelsea the favourites
Chelsea seem to be the biggest option for the Argentine. According to reports from Sky Sports, as relayed by Manchester Evening News, Maresca’s team will buy Garnacho only if Christopher Nkunku, along with Nicolas Jackson or Tyrique George, are also shown the way out. If only one of them leave, then Chelsea will be satisfied with their current attackers.
Interestingly, apart from Garnacho, Xavi Simons’ name is also being linked with Chelsea, but this move will be possible only if at least two of the three players are sold. In such a situation, United’s patience have run out, and they are desperate to get rid of Garnacho. Meanwhile, there were reports that the Argentine had agreed on personal terms with Chelsea.
Is the deal in danger of falling apart?
Now the question is whether this deal will really be closed before the window comes to an end. As United fans, we have to accept that Garnacho should leave at any cost. His relationship with Amorim has deteriorated, and if he stays at Old Trafford, the whole atmosphere will be more poisonous. However, we now have apprehensions, as the transfer window is set to end in a matter of 15 days, and selling so many players together seems to be a difficult task for the Blues.
If the deal gets stuck, Garnacho’s situation at Old Trafford will become very delicate. The trust of the club and the manager has already ended, and in such a situation, he will have no choice but to sit on the bench, and that’s detrimental to his career.
On the other hand, for United, this is an opportunity to clean up the team. The club should remove players who create tension in the dressing room. We will desperately hope that the Blues get this deal done as quickly as they can, but if Garnacho stays, this next season will prove to be more disastrous for his career, as we don’t think he will now find a place in the squad. So in our opinion, United should do everything in their power to close this deal because the 21-year-old winger no longer fits in at Old Trafford.
