Man Utd Transfer News Today: €35m signing close as two set to leave
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Emiliano Martinez.
Sancho wants Napoli
Jadon Sancho is keen on a move to Napoli after the Serie A champions approached him earlier this week. The Man Utd outcast is prioritising the Naples outfit over Juventus.
The Turin club opened talks with Sancho and Man Utd on Friday, but for now, Sancho is leaning more towards Napoli as they were the first side to actually open talks with him.
It remains to be seen if a move is financially viable for Napoli as they previously had concerns over Sancho's cost, particularly his hefty wage.
Rashford not hiding Barcelona desire
Like Sancho, Marcus Rashford is expected to leave Man Utd this summer, and the England international remains keen on a move to Barcelona despite the fact that a deal seems unlikely at this stage.
Rashford is currently in Marbella and was quizzed on Barcelona and Lamine Yamal by a Spanish YouTuber. The 27-year-old admitted that he would love to play alongside Yamal.
“Sure, everybody in the world wants to play with the best. Hopefully, we’ll see," Rashford said.
Man Utd making Martinez progress
Man Utd have made progress in their talks with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who is reportedly desperate to join the Red Devils this summer.
The shot-stopper is being linked with a €35m transfer to Old Trafford, and talks between the club and his camp have been positive in recent days.
However, a move will likely hinge on Man Utd's ability to offload Andre Onana. There were links with Monaco, but these have been played down by Fabrizio Romano.
Man Utd to loan Palhinha?
Man Utd are exploring an ambitious loan move for Bayern midfielder Joao Palhinha, who was already on the radar of the club before his move to Germany.
Despite being a top target for the Munich outfit for two years, Palhinha struggled for minutes in his first season at Bayern and could leave in search of regular minutes.
Man Utd are credited with an interest in the Portugal international, who is regarded as an intriguing 'low-cost option' to bolster the midfield.
