Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone the Mi Note 2 has been launched at its ‘Curved to Impress‘ event in Beijing. It is the first Mi series phone to come with just one physical button (home) on the front, bearing a fingerprint sensor on the home button.
The smartphone will be available in 3 variants:
- 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage model priced at CNY 2,799
- 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model priced at CNY 3,299
- Global Edition 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model priced at CNY 3,499 (with support for up to 37 LTE bands)
Mi Note 2 will be available in 3 colours: Piano Black and Glacial Silver colour variants, and an aluminium build.
5.7-inch full HD flexible OLED display (1080×1920 pixels), with a 77.2% screen to body ratio
a dual-edge curved display hence, the company is calling it a two-sided curved design
Processor and Battery
powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 Performance Edition SoC
sports a 4070 mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0.
Rear – 22.56-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and EIS with its own 3-axis gyroscope for 4K video stabilisation.
Front – 8-megapixel Sony IMX268 Exmor RS sensor, and an f/2.0 aperture, apart from a group selfie feature and Auto Beautify 3.0.
Other features include a high-precision GPS module inside, a fully functional NFC module and a high-quality 24-bit / 192kHZ DAC.
The phone will go on sale in China November 1, 2016 onwards.
