Mondelez International, which produces the iconic chocolate Toblerone has added spaces between the triangles of the chocolate. The company has blamed rising ingredient prices for the change.
The company was able to keep the bar’s original packaging and length, but has reduced the amount of chocolate. This has led to the reduction of roughly 10% of the amount of chocolate, while the price remains the same.
“Like many other companies, unfortunately, we are experiencing higher costs for many ingredients. We carry these costs for as long as possible, but to ensure Toblerone remains on shelf, is affordable and retains the iconic shape we all know and love, we have had to reduce the weight of this particular bar,” Mondelez said in a statement on its Facebook page.
