In December last year, the AAP government had launched the “Swachh Delhi” app to enable residents to inform authorities about the unclean areas of the city.
The Delhi government has now updated the app to seek people’s help in dealing with alarming air pollution level in the national capital. The app will allow people to post pictures and locations of burning garbage, dry leaves, construction waste or polluting vehicles.
The government will be monitoring the complaints on a daily basis.
“The complaints will be forwarded to the concerned department and teams will be immediately dispatched to resolve the problem,” assured Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
He also mentioned that if any issue is not resolved properly then the sanitation inspectors will be asked for an official explanation.
Mr Sisodia said that the decision was taken by the Delhi Government following a high level meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, the Centre and other stakeholders during recent meetings to tackle air pollution in the Capital.
