Good news for all the Pokémon Go fans in India, Reliance Jio has partnered with Niantic the publisher and Developer of the gaming app to bring an optimum gaming experience to all the gamers in India. Pokémon Go, an AR based game, which became a rage all over the world this year will now be finally available for download in India from Wednesday, December 14.
“We are delighted to partner with Jio to launch Pokémon GO in India,” John Hanke, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Niantic, said in a statement. “It’s exciting to see Pokémon fans in India step out and explore their neighborhoods in search of Pokémon and Jio’s disruptive high-speed 4G LTE Network will be an excellent way to experience the game.”
“The two companies will work together to bring Indians a richer and more enjoyable mobile entertainment experience for Pokémon GO, including activating Jio retail locations and charging stations as PokéStops and Gyms within the game and allowing Indians to catch, train, and battle at any of Jio’s outlets throughout the country,” the company said in the statement.
As an incentive, Jio SIM customers will be able to download and play Pokémon GO without incurring data charges till 31st March 2017. In addition to this, the Jio users will have an access an exclusive Pokémon Go channel on the company’s JioChat app, where the players will be able to interact with each other, share tips, contests, clues and special event updates, without even going online.
Even Airtel, Vodafone, Idea or any other network users will be able to download, play and experience the ultimate virtual gaming experience. However, the game requires the players to stay connected to the internet at all times while playing.
