Instagram introduces another Snapchat-like feature

Instagram was launched as a social networking application which was deeply associated with sharing images. On the other hand, Snapchat was launched to act as a platform for people to go live with friends through snaps and stories.

There is no doubt that Instagram Stories is a leaf borrowed from Snapchat. And now, Instagram has added two new features –Live video on Instagram Stories and disappearing photos and videos for groups in Instagram Direct.

To go live, users would just need to swipe right from the feed to open the camera, tap the “Start Live Video” button and then can start sharing for up to an hour. As soon as you go live, your friends will get a notification. You can also pin a comment for everyone to see or even turn comments off when you are live. As soon as your friend starts a live story, you will see ‘Live’ under their profile photo in the stories bar.

Live video on Instagram Stories  will be introduced to users across the globe in the next few weeks. Whether your account is public or private, you can send disappearing photos and videos to only those who follow you.
