Cast: Ranveer Singh, Vaani Kapoor
Director: Aditya Chopra
Plot: Set amidst the romantic and breathtaking streets of Paris, the movie revolves around the complicated lust/friendship/love relationship between the lead pair Dharam Gulati (Ranveer Singh) and Shyra Gill (Vaani Kapoor).
What started off as a one-night stand turned into a relationship. But wait! Dharam and Shyra belong to the modern time of hook-ups, live-ins, break-up anniversary parties. Where will life take them when they decided to end their relationship ?
TheEdgyMind Review: The movie starts off unusually with the profound track “Labon ka karobaar” in the background, while on-screen, multiple couples – young, old, traffic controllers, kids – kissing delicately on the picturesque locations of Paris.
What seems like a fresh start to the tale of love in the city of love, eventually loses its charm as the movie progresses!
Dharam Gulati is a flirt from Delhi, who is in Paris to do stand-comedy in his friend’s bar. Shyra is an Indian born in France; she is a tourist guide.
Before intermission, the movie goes back and forth in time, to share the overview of the type of relationship Dharam and Shyra have shared (with a lot of DARE involved) and are now sharing.
Post intermission, Shyra turns into a sober person and acts mature, while Dharam continues to refine his casanova skills with other girls. Somehow, the lead pair’s fate made them meet again and again, due to which they eventually decided to become friends .
The movie progresses as the lead lady decides to settle down with another man, who proposes her for marriage. Shyra’s wedding brings out the love emotions of the lead pair.
Overall, it’s a predictable storyline, which has been seen several times on silver screen!
You can skip the movie or you can watch it to experience the uncountable-lip-locks, dance moves and acting skills of Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor.
