Finally, the Apple Event, one of the tech-world’s most anticipated event ended at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco. There were a lot of new and important announcements made during the event which gave jitters to the viewers. The event commenced with Tim Cook on stage, who eventually let his executives come forward one by one to showcase the latest offerings by Apple.
Here are the important highlights from the Apple Event:
“Tim Cook highlighted that a total of 140 billion App Store downloads have happened so far. He called it “Phenomenal”.
“Super Mario Run gaming App would be launched soon on the App Store.”
“Tim Cook mentioned that Apple music has 17 million subscribers now”.
“Apple iWork is getting Real-time collaboration, which would enable editing in real-time among colleagues and classmates. This feature would be available on the mac, iPad, iPhone and web.”
“Tim Cook said Apple Watch had consistently topped smartwatch rankings, since its launch 18 months ago.”
“Pokemon Go would be available on the Apple watch by the end of this year.”
“Apple Watch Series 2 announced, which features iOS 3 and is swim proof and water resistant to up to 50 meters.”
“The new Apple Watch has a built-in GPS.”
“Apple has partnered with Nike to develop Apple Nike+ watches exclusively for runners, having stretchable bands. Apple Nike+ are available in 4 vibrant colours.”
“The price of Apple watch Series 2 was announced at $369.”
“Apart from the existing Aluminium and Stainless bodied watches, a new Ceramic bodied White coloured dial watch was revealed.”
“The name of the 2 new Apple iPhones – iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus announced, which would feature iOS 10, with the introduction of 2 new colours Black and Jet Black, to the existing gold, silver and rose gold. The new iPhones would be available in 32 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage variants. Jet Black colour would not be available in the 32 GB variant.”
“The screen size of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus would be same as its predecessors i.e. 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively.”
“Home button of the iPhone is now using the Force Touch haptic feedback you’ll find in the new MacBook Pro and the Apple Watch. It doesn’t click anymore.”
“New iPhones are water and dust resistant.”
“iPhone 7 to have a 7 MP front camera, and 12 MP rear camera. iPhone 7 Plus will have dual rear cameras of 12 MP each with one being wide-angle lens and other with a 56mm telephoto lens.”
“The new iPhone will have Stereo Speakers to emit twice the volume in comparison with the previous iPhone.”
“Availability of an adapter to connect the earpods to the iPhone with the lightening port, to transmit higher quality audio. Headphone jack has been removed from the new design”
“Launched Airpods – wireless version of earpods, Powered by Apple-designed W1 chip. Their announced price is $159.”
“Prices of the new iPhones start from $649.”
“iOS 10 to be available on September 13.”
“iphone orders to start from September 9.”
“Shipping to start from September 16.”
The event concluded with a beautiful performance by the singer Sia.
