Amidst tough competition in the telecom industry, Airtel is trying hard to retain its subscriber base. With Reliance Jio already have made a world-record last week, by crossing a customer base of 16 million in just 26 days, Airtel has launched a new scheme in the market to lure broadband users.
Bharti Airtel on Thursday announced, “Airtel’s existing as well as new broadband users would be able to access internet speed of up to 100 megabit per second with the use of ‘V-fiber’ technology.”
To experience Airtel’s V-fibre technology, the existing as well as new subscribers, have to simply upgrade their modem by paying around Rs 1,000 for the new modem.
Modem charges will be fully refunded if a customer is not satisfied within the 1st month of service,” Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
The existing Airtel broadband users can upgrade to high speed within the same plan at no extra charge. On the other hand, Airtel is offering a three-month free trial of V-Fiber to new customers.
The new offering debuted in Chennai on Thursday, while the nation-wide rollout would start in the upcoming weeks.
Both existing as well as new users can register or pre-book the V-Fiber service via the company’s dedicated site.
Airtel has also announced that it will make pan-india unlimited calling free in its new plans starting at Rs. 1,299.
