10 things to do that motivate us to get up and work!!

  1. Start your day by reading an inspirational quote. For that, i recommend, subscribe to early morning motivational e-mails or texts on your phone. This would be easy to do because most of us have a habit of checking our phones in  the morning as soon as we get up.
  2. Put motivational posters and stickers on the walls of your room as well as your work desk. This would be very helpful at times when we feel low.
  3. To keep you going, always use affirmations in your mind like “I am happy”, “i am healthy”, “i am wealthy” etc. They will release positive vibrations in your body instantly and you will feel energetic to face anything.
  4. Listen to inspirational songs while going to work. My recommendations include: “Jiya Re” – Jab Tak Hai Jaan , “Main kya Hoon” – Love Aaj kal , “I’m Not Afraid” – Eminem , “Stronger (What doesn’t kill you) – Kelly Clarkson, “Skyscraper” – Demi Lovato.. etc.

  5. Go for a long walk in a park at the time when kids are playing, atleast 4 times a week. Watching the kids play will make you also feel carefree like them. And during that moment, you will forget all the stress of the day.
  6. Take care of your health. Start the day by having a fulfilling & nutritious breakfast. Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol & caffeine as much as possible as they have negative impact on the brain, according to several studies. And we know that, in order to get motivation in life, we first need to have positivity in ourselves.
  7. Carrying the burden of the past in your head and heart leads to depression. Instead of clinging on to it, move on. Practice meditation for atleast 5 minutes everyday, during which, try to forgive all the people who have tried to let you down. By forgiving such people, you are making more space in your heart for love and happiness.
  8. Go shopping!!! According to many studies,it has been proved that shopping is a stress buster. Buying something for yourself will make you ecstatic immediately. The happier you are, the positivity gets into you, hence, ultimately inspiring you to work harder.
  9. Maintain a journal. Journal writing must be done at the time when you have an emotional unrest; so that after writing, you can calm down and concentrate.
  10. I know it’s a cliche but it’s true “When one door closes, another door of opportunity opens immediately“; we just need to make sure that we don’t close our eyes too soon.
